large silver orb moving through space with a smaller flashing cigar shape following behind it

Out using telescope with daughter and saw a large silver orb moving through space with a smaller flashing cigar shape following miles behind it. They were perfectly distance apart, the one in the front was big and glowing steadily and the one following was smaller, cigar shaped and slowly flashing brighter to dimmer. Watched them until they disappeared into the darkness.
