I saw 6 bright reddish lights traveling from northwest to southeast flying in a strange pattern. At firts I thought a plane was crashing and I was seeing wing lights move vertical.

As we moved down the road more came out of the distance. 3 in a row, then two side by side moving from side by side to on top of one another.

We pulled over and counted almost 20 go by. We could not make out a shape against the night sky. They looked like balls of light. They were pretty low. We thought maybe they were military helicopters but they were completely silent. They seemed too large to be drones. We tried to find the source by driving in the direction they seemed to come from. We noticed a large bright flash on the ground level to the sky. It was a pinkish flash like the same color as a flare but over a huge area the size of a football field.
