|This is the recollection of my father, who is 92 years old and lives in an assisted living facility outside Washington DC. Dad is a WW2 and Korean War Veteran and served in the Army Air Corps and U.S. Air Force.
Dad was assigned to Wright-Patterson AFB after WW2. He has stated to me on several occasions that the recovered material from at least one extraterrestrial craft that crashed near Roswell in July 1947 (there apparently were at least two) was "primarily an iron-aluminum alloy".
Dad stated that "quite a lot" of the crash debris from Roswell was transported to Wright-Paterson.
He was assigned to a technical laboratory where research was done on metals, and he was not know what occurred elsewhere at Wright Patterson.
