Bright lights

I was waiting for my daughter to get out of work and noticed a very bright white light midsky. No noise, no movement just hovering.

A few minutes later I noticed two aircraft things following each other. One was glowing red the other white. They went east to west.

Once out of sight, two more appeared, both white and followed the same path.

Meanwhile, the brightest light was becoming dimmer until it was no longer in sight.

Very strange.
