Bright red sphere hovering over tree line then dropped straight down, rose back up, and headed northwest.

On July 14th, 2017, at 10:15 pm, I was looking out my bedroom window, when I noticed a large bright red light in the shape of a sphere, hovering over the tree line behind my home. I live in the country, so I would guess it was maybe 3 to 4 city blocks away.

It just stayed in the same spot. I watched it for about 30 seconds, before it began to slowly lower straight down. I could still see the light through the tree branches. It stopped for a few seconds, and then slowly rose back up. When it reached to top of the tree line, it began to travel in a straight line in a northwest direction for about 45 seconds, before it was no longer in my view from my window.

Total sighting was less than 2 minute.

I was to afraid to go outside and follow the direction it was traveling.
