Large craft maintaining a 45 degree angle up with sudden escape from view within minutes.

Viewed object over the west hills of Portland, OR as a group of us played volleyball. Craft moved at about a 45 degree angle up at a slow speed. Now being a pilot, I suspect the object in reference to the back ground and cloud formations would suggest a craft about 3X the size of a 747 and moving about the speed no more than 100 knots.
