Approximately 8:30 in the evening on a clear night a two red lights moving equal distance apart from each other moved from East to West very high in the sky. It seemed to be moving faster than an airplane at first, it slowed, stopped, and reversed direction and hovered. Then disappeared so quickly it seemed to vanish.

Moments later a second one came floating from the same direction across the sky until it reached virtually the same location and then vanished as well. It's path was more direct without stops and starts.

We looked through the binoculars but could only make out a dark object shaped like a cross with a light on the top and bottom or triangle in which only one half was visible by the light on the craft.
