Singular bright star in northwest boston sky every night

I live alone in a city that is twenty miles north of Boston.

I have easily observer a singular bright light in the north west sky. At first it was not note worthy however it is there EVERY night and follows the same curve shaped decent as it slowly sinks into the horizon. What seems strange to me is the consistency of this object and the total lack of any other night lights, who knows, just saying......?
