A long string of lights moving slowly, like a cylinder with lighted windows, but extremely long moving slowly across the night sky

Looking into the sky, I saw a very long set of lights. At first I thought it was a long tail of a meteor, but as I was watching the long row of lights were moving very slowly and not changing shape..it was like seeing. Long cylinder with window lights moving in an east by north east direction, moving slowly and without sound. I stared at it trying to understand what I was seeing it was incredibly long.
