looled like star or planet untill it changed colors blue then red then back to white

i was driving west on hwy 50 coming up to intersection when i saw a bright planet or star that i never saw before in that part of the sky i was looking very hard at it then i pulled the car over to the side of the road,it changed colors it was red then blue then wht then red thne blue then it was gone it just was gone so fast!
