I saw a ball above a jet and it was still, then it went south and up till it was no longer in site

I justed moved to selma or about a 40 min drive southwest of grants pass and i just saw the same type ball in the sky about two meters below the north star it is a silver and it can really move fast i went north then west at a high speed two state fire men where there to but they dont want to say anything about it, if oh it was 08/25/99 when i saw it again, sorry can't type to good, if you had a few people who it please e-mail me. thank you much bob
