2 bright lights moving across Queens's sky

This was very strange to me. I was always a UFO believer. But what happned to me a few days ago just go me interested even more. My friends and I were sitting outside our houses looking into the sky. It was a clear night where you can see many stars, not cloud in the sky. it was about 9:36 pm when i saw it. i say this light moving really fast. at first i thought it was a shooting star, but than all of a sudden it went out like someone fliped a switch and turned it off. The object we saw kept fadeing in and out, until it finally dissapeared. Now at this point I really wanted to keep searching the sky to try to find another.And sure enough I did. i was about 2 min after the 1 i saw earlier flew away. I was like "holy shit look at that" the light we saw was realy brite and moveing pretty fast. i told my friend to get out his telescope so we can get a closer look. And when he got it, I set it up, aimed it at the object. I thought i would of saw like the metal of the spacecraft, but all i saw was the light. i know it wasnt a plane because planes hav those lights so you can see the wings. fnally at about 9:48 it zoomed off, it was traceling from west to the east. I have no idea what it is,could be a military plane (because of 9/11) but didnt seem like it. I would like to know if anyone else saw what i saw, if they did please tell me
