Perfectly Straight Light Line in the Sky above the Cloud Level. Looked like a crack in Sky.

A line of light in the sky about the size of your hand. The light was above the cloud layer. The clouds would cover and uncover the line of light. The line would not move.

Finally lost sight of the line after the cloud layer was thick enough to totally block the light.
