A bright object ,with multi-colored lights seen in the southern sky,just above the trees,then it rose up and travelled north.

Off in the distance a bright object was seen in the southern sky just above the trees. It began to rise after awhile, then it proceeded to travel in a northern direction. No apparent shape could be determined. Very bright colored lights though.
