NUFORC Sighting 77684

Occurred: 2010-08-31 19:20 Local
Reported: 2010-09-07 07:01 Pacific
Duration: 15 seconds
No of observers: 0

Location: Matawatchan (Canada), ON, Canada

Shape: Cigar

Cigar shaped object, flashes twice, separates into 2 spheres, joins as one ball of light and vanishes!

It was around 19:30, while out fishing, I noticed an object about 9 thousand feet in the western sky. The sky condition was fairly clear, with a high level haze (no clouds), the sun was near setting. A star was visible at the time. No other aircraft visible.

The object first appeared to be a cigar shape aircraft, no wings, no noise, no vapour trail, it was metallic, glowing, shinning very brightly and was moving slowly in a south west direction.

The object then flashed brightly, twice and slowly separated evenly, into two spherical objects, and then joined together into one round bright object, like a ball of bright light.

The ball of light grew in intensity, then quickly faded away and vanished.

The total time of observation was about 10-15 seconds.

I have worked in the aviation industry for thirty years, beside an airport and have seen countless aircraft take-off and depart. This object did not resemble anything I have seen before.

I have seen many aircraft flying at high altitudes, twenty to thirty thousand feet in the same area. This object was clearly visible and I estimate the altitude to be around nine thousand feet.
