3 lights synchrnized darting and changing direction moving as quick as a meteor

Looking up into the sky three bright lights skated across the night sky. At 1st It looked like°meteors but the three lights moved in a synchronized motion.1 in front and 2 at either side not far behind it was as if they were joined together .they moved as quick as meteors but not in a straight line. The lights were moving side to side as well as forward just as quick. Although not very high roughly 500-1000 meters they cleared the sky from 1 end to the other in no more than 5 seconds.
