Red flashing object flew directly over our heads at high speeds

My friends and I were sitting out on the back porch of our house and a red lit disc shaped object flew right over our heads. It went by so fast that it blew a bottle of water off the table. It was way to close to be an airplane and it made no noise. At one point the object made a 90 degree turn in a different direction, almost like it was trying to avoid something. It appeared to be about the size of a small car. The lights blinked in some sort of pattern as well.
