Glowing green orb

My two buddies and I were sitting on my (1/4 mile long) driveway out in the countryside of Houston, TX. (more specifically Cypress) It was about midnight and we were completely sober. I say this because every time I recount the story people ask me if we were on anything, but I remember specifically we had JUST cracked out first beers when in the distance, I'd say 300-500 yards away we saw a green light appear in the sky to the North of our position. It seemingly appeared out of thin air.

((deleted)) I said as I pointed it out to my two friends. The green light moved diagonally down and to the right (getting closer to the ground), passing over a radio tower in the distance. It suddenly came to an abrupt halt in mid-air. It hovered in place for maybe 2 or 3 seconds before it zoomed off northwards. It disappeared again BEFORE it went over the horizon line.
