Multi color oblect over Smyrna/Murfreesboro 10/10/11

We live in an elevated home site on a small mountain and have relatively good sight of the sky. on 10/10/11 at app 19:30 hrs. My daughter in law was on the front porch looking toward the sky over Murfreesboro and Smyrna Tennessee area. When she saw what appeared to be a cluster of lights not moving. Well after she came in screaming UFO we all went out to see what she was talking about. Well, there was a cluster of lights (mainly red green white) flashing or rotating at a high speed. It was hard to tell as it was quite a distance from us. When we retrieved our scopes and binoculars, it amazed us at what it looked liked. We eventually quit looking at it(except my daughter in-law). I went back out to check on it with her. This time it appeared to have a what appeared to be a couple orangish colored lightes leave the object at a high rate of speed. We went back inside for a couple of minutes.When we went back outside we could barely see it through the tree tops. Appeared to be traveling SSW. I can not believe I have not seen this on the news, or internet.
