objects were flying together as one, then circled each other and disappeared into the sky

Object flew over a full-moon lit skyline of the city from south to north (I was looking into the western sky). Object appeared to be an airplane with no blinking lights until it separated into 2 objects. The two objects circled one another, gained speed and then disappeared into the sky.
