This is a prelude to subsequent events.

On April 26, 2007 at 11:55 a.m., my husband and I were traveling south in our 18-wheeler through the Nevada desert when a series of dramatic events took place! We felt a "concussion" of some sort and everything became brighter. We witnessed several meteorites hit the ground directly near us (some still showing a tail behind them as they hit), and many, many shadows passed over us. One, in particular, was extremely large and made a loud "whoosh" sound as it passed overhead. I looked forward and there was a large orange, brownish color meteorite heading directly toward us out of the heavens. I said to my husband, "it's gonna hit us," and braced for the impact. While waiting for the impact, another one headed toward us in a swooping upward direction from the gully on the right side of the highway as if it had ricocheted off another rock or something. It became suspended in mid air right in front of me, four feet away from the windshield! This one was round, the size of my fist! and looked like a molten ball of solid bubbling gold! The larger one that I was bracing for must have missed us by inches, if that! Since we were traveling at 70 m.p.h., we believe it was more likely wind force that then flung this second one to the right side of our truck where it landed on our air breather with a very loud crash and hissing noises. It then flipped back up onto the lower right hand corner of our windshield, spinning and chipping the windshield as it spun across to the center. It stopped or got “hung-up” right in front of us on the windshield for a brief moment as if it were frozen in time, and began screeching, hissing and sounding as if it were emitting electrical charges like it was going to explode or something. Then it flipped up underneath our visor bending the frame, and hit the sleeper. At that same instant, two other meteorites impacted with the top front of our trailer causing a momentum delay in our forward motion. The marks on our trailer are! approximately 4" wide and 9" wide, and the hits on the sleepe! r made a 2" diameter paint chip and smudges of some sort. I forgot to mention that during this incident I saw what appeared to be black globules falling within a foot of my window along the side of the highway and collected some of this material for research.

We immediately contacted a meteorite laboratory (we will leave unnamed at this time). After hearing our story, examining our truck and taking photos, the lab representative told us that he knew of only one other instance of a meteorite striking a moving vehicle in this manner and that it was just a small stone that was never found. He continued to agree that our incident is an extreme, very big story, and that he had connections to get the story out.

Since that date we have collected numerous rock specimens, including the items we came face to face with, along with photos and other strange material from our “fall” site. We have shown the meteorite lab many, many specimens and each time they come up with a different reason why these items are not involved in our fall, yet we are the eye-witnesses who were directly involved. They tell us the rock specimens are earthly "basalt," or “rocks with desert varnish," and things that do not make common sense about other items we have shown them. Nor would they explain why our fireball and meteorite report was not filed or even if anyone else had reported a fireball on that day.

I found a photo of a shiny golden meteorite that looked exactly like what we saw, and the lab representative appeared extremely shocked at what he was looking at. He turned green and threw himself back in his chair. Then he stated "Oh, that's an achondrite - those are rare." He then admitted that he would not even recognize one if he held it in his hand because they are too similar to earthly rocks and would have to be tested. We told him time and time again that what we saw was yellowish in color and he kept telling us to go look for a black one. It doesn't seem to matter how heavy or solid they are, the appearance of metal and possibly olivine and pyroxene materials inside of them, or the fact that magnets are attracted to them.

As of this date, our story has not been reported and/or told to the general public. Although we could have easily been killed and were involved in such an extreme incident unlike has happened before, we cannot even get scientific interest, documentation or recognition regarding this event. We are only told "no" even without further investigation and/or examination.
