orange bright flash then a strange formation of lights seen on the beach

As we were standing on the beach around 9:00 PM (dark) we noticed an orange ball flash brightly with a faint glow beneath it and then dim slowly in the sky then shoot over about a foot then the same thing would happen again (flash then dim or go completely out) then move to a different part of the sky. This occured about 5 times.

After this a formation of about 5 lights then were moving slowly across the sky staying in formation. After about 30 minutes they were gone. There was no sound heard at all.
