Bright, Oval Object twice size of home low to ground.

This was the summer of 1968. My friend and I were sleeping outside in the front yard of his home (State College, Pa). It was a warm, quiet, still evening. There were no clouds at all....no wind. Since he lived on the outskirts of town there were few street lights and little, if any traffic.

We were lying in sleeping bags looking up at the stars. I suddenly saw a huge, glowing, white, oval, object pass over our heads and out of sight in less than 2 seconds. The object was easily twice the size of two houses....easily. It is difficult to judge how high it was in altitude. If pressed I would guess that it was very low to the ground as it was so large and out of our sight in seconds. The object made no noise....not even the sound of something pushing through the air.

In approximately 30 seconds (which seemed like and eternity) my friend said: "Did you see that?" I simply said: "Yes." He said "Lets go inside." We never spoke of it again.

Anyway, I hope I haven't wasted your time, I know this is minimal and not terribly exciting. But this was 1968: it was not swamp gas, a weather balloon, a helicopter, air plane, etc. It was immense in size, totally quiet, oval, fast, and glowing white. I just don't think it was man made....I really know it wasn't.
