Light balls circling counterclockwise moving in sky from east to west.

Went outside tonight and in the southern sky saw two lights going in circle counterclockwise moving. They almost seemed not to be moving but called my neighbor to come and look and the light were still moving counterclockwise to the west. At one point we thought we saw a third. Lights were not beams from the earth, just a ball of white light trailing another. Not like a search light. Seemed to be coming from behind the clouds, even illuminating a small cloud as it passed over from behind. Friend says not like the search lights she has seen in CA also not like the strobes used for openings etc. Watched until they disappeared. Very unusual.
