Glowing snowball streak across the sky, no sound.

Sitting on my balcony with my wife, we observed a bright white glow, larger than a plane move rapidly across the sky for a few seconds and then disappear. No sound was heard. Best way I can describe it is it was like a glowing snow ball. It travelled in a straight line going from behind our view point and down at an agle of 20' to the horizon. After disappearing no sound or further sighting.
