On Tuesday, 2/18/2014, on or about 9:46 am, while standing on my front porch, me and my nephew were observing this commercial southwest airplane on landing approach. A black round object dropped from the bottom of the aircraft.
The object dropped about 300 feet from the plane and continued flying vertical ((Correction: horizontally)) following the direction of the plane towards the airport.
As it was getting closer to our direction we noticed a bubble like clear sphere and the black round object in the middle.
The episode lasted at least 3 minutes until we could not see the object any more.
