Bright orange circular orb

My name is ((deleted)). I live in half moon bay ca.

As me and my friend sat outside and witnessed what look like as star hover close and low to the ground we realized it was not an airplane helicopter fireworks or Flare gun.

It looking like a circular round orb hovering. A minute later 2 of them reappeared and moved slowly in formation .
