Location: Superior, CO, USA
Shape: Cigar
Characteristics: Aura or haze around object
10:50 am. Black cigar object with vapor ring; traveled west over Hwy 36 near Superior, then south toward Rocky Mt. Airport.
Driving south on Hwy. 36 from Boulder and spotted a single black cigar-shaped object with a distinct white vapor ring around it with a small wavey tail trailing behind. It headed west at the cruising speed of an airliner approaching an airport. Object crossed over Hwy. 36 as I exited on McCaslin Blvd.
Lost sight of it briefly, but turning on Rock Creek Blvd., I spotted it ahead of me, moving directly south toward Rocky Mt. Airport.
I am very familiar with every type aircraft (worked in aviation museum and come from Air Force family) and this was unlike anything I have ever seen! Definitely not a balloon.
Weather was low 30s and clear blue sky and no other objects or aircraft in the vicinity.
