bright lights appeared and disappeared over west mesa Roswell NM

Driving west out of Roswell NM, just after dark. My wife and I saw one bright oval orange light in the sky over the west mesa outside of Roswell off hwy 380. The light lasted only about 10 seconds and disappeared. About 3 minutes later two more lights appeared lasting the same length then disappeared. About Four minutes later three lights appeared one on top of the other, then the top one dropped down in line horizonally in line with the bottom light, them two more lights appeared making a total of 5 lights in the sky then all at once just disappeared. I have never seen anything like it before and did not see any evidence of aircraft in the sky.
