Object that covered the entire sky, from horizon to horizon, passed overhead, blocking my view of all the stars.

I worked for a year in Riverside, NV, in 2008/09. Where I stayed was on a ranch along the Virgin River, about 90 minutes North of Las Vegas, 7 min south of Bunkerville & 15 min. south of Mesquite, NV. The house in which I slept was less than 2/10 of a mile from the Virgin River.

The sound of heavy helicopters flying low and dark along the river in the wee hours was a regular occurrence. In my first couple of months there I would jump out of bed to go see what it was yet I could never see anything even when the stars were bright and the sky was clear, I only ever heard them.

One morning about 3:00 AM having been awakened by that sound, I went out. I looked up and saw a meteor shower so I lay down in the driveway and started watching. There were so many visible stars it was crazy. As I was looking up, the stars started disappearing in a straight line on the south horizon. The dark line moved north and eventually, the entire sky was dark. Not a star to be seen! Then after a few minutes, the sky and stars started to show again, just as bright as before, in a strait line moving north.

I believe that a silent object as large as the east is from the west, passed overhead blocking the view of the stars as it moved accross the sky overhead from horizon to horizon in all 4 directions. It was scary and peaceful all at the same time. I'll never forget this as long as a live.

I was 49 years old at the time.
