Stationary red/green object then quick acceleration.

Saw a stationary light in the night sky. Color was changing from red to green. First thought it was an airplane but it stayed stationary too long. Then it made a quick movement across the sky, stopped and moved quickly again. Saw it far on the horizon again stationary. Then a quick move and lost sight of it. Maybe a minute later the object passed quickly overhead as a white bright light and went over the horizon. Never heard any noise.
