Duration: Two seconds
No of observers: 1

Location: Lordsburg and Silver City (between), NM, USA
Location details: Approximately 15 minutes on US Rt. 90 after Rt. 70 junction in NM

Shape: Circle
Characteristics: Landed

Observed a very large, iridescent, green, ball fall from sky and disappear behind a mountain range to my right as I was driving north.

Weather - clear night. Traffic - non-existent. Speed - 60 mph approximately
Direction - NE on US route 90 toward Silver City, NM from the intersection with US route 70 outside Lordsburg, NM.
Situation - I had traveled south from the Phoenix area for 4 hours and was heading by myself back home to Silver City. Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed a bright flash of light and turned my head to look out the passenger’s side window. I immediately saw a huge fluorescent green ball (the most beautiful color green I had ever seen) fall from the sky and drop behind a mountain range to the East. I believe the mountain range was perhaps the Pyramid Mountains or the Cedar Mountains and close to the Continental Divide. The “ball” almost entirely filled up the passenger’s side window from my sight point.
That was it. There were no other flashes. It just disappeared when it completely descended. I was stunned by what I had seen and especially because the color was so intense and radiant and the sphere was so large.
Let me add that the “ball” was not falling either rapidly or slowly, but descending at a rate where it was easily observable. Finally, the size is difficult to approximate not knowing exactly how far away the object was at the time. But, knowing that it fell behind a mountain range, leads me to say it was about three times the size of a full moon in the sky or the same size as a full moon when observed on the horizon.
