A bright light came down and covered our car

In the fall 0f 1968, while high school teenagers, my boyfriend & I were “parking” on a wooded dirt road. We noticed a light getting brighter & brighter. We looked out the windows & realized the huge bright light was actually above and illuminating the car. We were frozen from fright. It was hard to tell how long we were motionless staring at the light. There was no noise that we noticed through the closed windows. As we stared at the huge light it moved off in the sky. The light went from huge to pin point as it moved incredibly fast higher in the sky & was gone. I looked at the trees around the car. It seemed somewhat sparkling for a moment (it could have been from staring at the light). Over the years I have thought about the sighting trying to find explanations for the light. It reminded me of the huge lights they had at airports at the time but the way it moved rapidly away, going from large to pinpoint in what seemed like seconds didn’t fit. The fact the there was no decernable noise also baffles me. We were so scared. We left immediately & couldn’t speak to each other until the next day & I remember still being frightened then. Of note, we were parked on the outside border of a National Guard Camp. This was 1968. Aviation technology was not that advanced, I believe, to account for the event.
