The Wed, 10/25/00 ,11PM Newscast of WGME-TV,ch 8, reports numerous sitings of meteors in this area.The anchorman,John Doughtery segued into the weather segment by staing that 'there were many reports of meteors in the sky,and that also the Coast Guard had been plagued by reports from fishing boats.' Report was treated lightly and no further info was given. The US Coast Guard is in Portland and South Portland,Me.with the S&R section at the South Portland favility.
