Students see UFO floating above Gymnasium of Jacksonville N.C. School for 20 seconds

I am writing this on behalf of my teaching assistant. I am a pastor of 5 years, and a teacher for 17 years. My name is Mr. ((male name deleted)). I am writing on behalf of Ms. ((initial of female deleted)) who will talk with you if you call her. The event occurred during school hours in 1966 or 1967.

((girl's name deleted)) a (age 11 or 12) was outside of her school during gym class, when an object hovered over the Northwood Park Middle School in Jacksonville N.C. The school is near the Marine Corps Camp Lejeune and Air Station New River. There were many students (I cannot tell you how many).

The object could not be seen well. It was approximately a block long, "spinning" and witnesses could see the bottom of the craft with flashing white lights. It had rained the evening before, but the object caused trees to move, leaves and mud to splash around. Some students panicked, and the gym teacher yelled to students, "RUN, RUN, RUN!" At the end of the 20 seconds, the craft made a swooshing noise as it took off. It was gone in one second.

The event last approximately 20 seconds long.

((girl's name deleted)) girlfriend is a good artist, and she drew a picture of what she saw. The girlfriends father worked at Camp Lejeune, and told the daughter, the craft was American, and belonged to the base. It was the bases own U.F.O.

There was a report on the 6pm news that night that reported the object over the Northwood Park Middle School gymnasium. Camp Lejeune told the news it was an object that they had on their base, and it was American.

((females's name deleted)) says, "That was no aircraft made by humans." ((witness's name deleted)) knows the name of friend who could verify the story - I am not sure if they are still in contact with each other. This happened 54 years ago She will have to tell you if it happened in the Fall, or the Spring, whether it was in the morning, or the afternoon. It could be documented by Camp Lejeune and/or the local news department for verification.
