Shape: Light

bright light traversed sky S to N, then back S and sped E in a microsecond.

Bright, white light crossed the sky slowly and steadily from S to N. I presumed it was a satellite: small, bright white, distant, no other lights, no vibration or sound. THEN the light moved up from the northern treeline back the way it came. This caught my full attention since satellites do not move backwards! It reach a point overhead, stayed there for a few seconds, then it streaked away to the East in microsecond and was gone.
