In 1985 I saw a huge sphere shaped flying object.

The summer between my 5th and 6th grade year, my friend and I, saw something. We would’ve been around 11 years old and the year was 1985.
We were outside in my front yard. I lived WAY out in the country in North Central Louisiana. We were sitting on the ground just talking and drawing in the cool sand that we had in our yard between the concrete driveway and grass. We both felt the air around us change. I felt this pressure in my ears and on my skin. We also heard a very low but powerful “hummmm” sound.
We both looked up and there was this HUGE round shaped object hovering above us. There’s a basketball area on Louisiana Tech Campus, I felt like it was that big or larger. Not directly above us but very close and right by a huge pine tree we had in our yard. In Louisiana pine trees can get really tall and the trunks can get very wide. This “unidentifiable flying object” was hovering right beside the top of this pine tree (which was probably 2 1/2 - 3stories tall). It dwarfed the pine. It was completely round, and had circles of white lights around the middle and one large white light at the bottom. (I remember one of my first thought, being a child of the 80’s was, “oh, how disappointing, the lights are just white and not color”).
Anyway, it hovered there for probably just 5-10 seconds and then it just LEFT the atmosphere, super fast. I grew up near Barksdake AFB, and England AFB, and have seen planes flying my whole life. It did NOT fly away. It zoomed strait out of the atmosphere at a vertical angle, at a speed I have never seen before, and got smaller and smaller as it left until we couldn’t see it anymore (and I swear it made a small “pop” sound when it left the atmosphere) leaving a white light streak behind it. Just like light speed in Star Trek and Star Wars.
I got in touch with my childhood friend, who was with me on Facebook a few years ago and we talked about it. We both remember it exactly like this. It is seared into our memories.
I can’t explain it, but I saw it.
