Sitting on our porch in the afternoon

We saw a reddish cloud slowly appear very far away in altitude. After it had manifested, 5 small round shiny things came out and flew around, but the objects flew away from the cloud but not too far, and not around the cloud. They went away. Then suddenly the shiny round things returned to the cloud as if called back urgently. After the last 1 entered the cloud. It slowly disappeared.
I have never mentioned this to anyone outside our family before, and this is long before I was aware of possible [alternately dimensional] sources of this event. We were Not allowed to read or watch any science fiction. My father was very strict about allowing us to have science fiction. We were only allowed to read or view real history.

The craft seemed to move as if in water, and the redish cloud Never moved with the wind. I later learned that air is the same as water aerodynamically and I suspect that alternate craft are from a water dimension? It just seemed like that as we watched. It was in the Omaha World Herald, but I have never been able to find it mentioned, after long searching. They are not cooperative in any way.
