3 bright orange orbs in a line would fade out and come back minutes later changing direction and then repeating for 30 minutes

My husband and I work for a ranch in rural Arizona, the ranch manager was driving home on Willow Springs Ranch Rd with his wife around 8:20pm when him and his wife saw 3 fire orange orbs traveling in a line. They would blink about twice and then disappear. Only to reappear again a few minutes later and headed a different direction. Boss came to my husband and I’s home on the ranch with his wife. We sat in the drive way facing North and then we saw just one orange orb heading west in the North Sky. It blinked twice then disappeared. A couple minutes later reappeared in the same spot but changed directions and was now heading east. Did the same thing of blinked slowly twice and then disappeared we didn’t see it again for another 15-20 minutes and then saw it flash one more time but more east and way lower like it was going behind the mountain range maybe the Pinal mountain range? But wasn’t sure in the dark. My father is a pilot and I instantly called him as he usually has an answer for strange things we see in the sky. He could not explain what we saw.
