bright flash like a comet

At 9:05 PM on February 6, 2008, I saw an orange flash in the sky for about 5 seconds. The flash was like a comet with a head and long tail. It was in the southeastern part of the sky in Orange County California. It was traveling from east to south, parallel to the horizon.
