Two high speed craft

I was looking in the sky for shooting stars when 2 lights appeared directly above me. They were the same size of the small stars above me. I did not see any flashing or blinking lights on either craft. They were moving at an extremely high rate of speed. (Based on the size and altitude the two craft seemed to be). Looking up..they were moving from West to East. They started about 3 inches apart (if I was to hold a ruler up to the sky). They flew straight for a second or two and then started to fly towards each other. They got to about half an inch away and then flew straight from there. They took off from that point at double the initial speed I saw at the start...out of view.

These two lights were, without a doubt, not shooting stars! These two craft maneuvered and flew at such a high rate of speed, faster than any I have ever seen before. It was frankly, shocking to see!
