Small metallic sphere flying slowly South to North in broad daylight

Metallic sphere seen flying from South to North at a constant velocity and trajectory. Seemed to change colors as its position changed, due to sunlight reflection. At first I thought it was a bird, I estimate it at 1/2 mile away and approx. 6 ft diameter. Trajectory unchanged by wind.
