One teardrop-shaped object silently streaked across the sky trailing a fiery plume.

I saw 1 object, which looked slightly triangular/teardrop in shape streak accross the sky approximately north-east to south-west with a large trailing, fiery plume behind it. It moved at a constant, speed which seemed extremely fast and there was no sound. At the same time there was a plane in the sky travelling in the opposite direction.

The object seemed to be much closer, brighter and faster than this plane.
