single object non-moving, changing colors, red, blue-green, white

We looked to the SE sky and seen what looked like a star, but it was changing colors, red,blue-green, white. It was not moving. We watched it from 84th St. all the way to 101st. Ave. it never moved. Was still in the same location in the sky and changing colors. Am going to try to ideo tape it.
