Heading south on Route 1 toward Lewes, Delware, I observed 4 solid red lights in a chevron formation. They did not move, remaining stationary for approx. 45 seconds, and then faded away, as if turning down a dimmer switch. A few seconds later, the same formation appeared in the opposite quadrent of the sky, remained lit for about 45 seconds, and again dimmed. The distance between the two points would have been far too great to have been traversed by a conventional craft. Shortly after the second appearence, a formation of 8 US figther jets approached the area where the lights had appeared.
