saw a triangular formation of red lights in the sky

Me and my family were driving home at around 9:00 at night when we saw a triangular formation of bright red lights above our neighborhood. They just sat there, in the sky, not moving.

When I was inside playing Half Life, I decided to check if it was still there. It was. Then a half hour later, I checked again but now it was gone.

We suspect the witness may allude to the dramatic cluster of red lights seen over Tinley Park on either August 21, 2004, or October 31, 2004, although they were nowhere near Hawthorn Woods, which is to the northwest of downtown Chicago.
