Two red lights in the sky

There were 2 red lights as we were looking north. They appeared to be still but we could tell that they were slowly, very slowly shifting position in sky. The one on the right seemed to move and the one to the left did not, actually. These lights pulsated. At first the light was more constant. Then there was more time between light and no light in the pulsation. After a few minutes the light seemed to be "struggling" to stay on and finally the both disappeared.
