standing outside my friends house looking at the stars we saw an object with no lights it.

standing outside my friends house looking at the stars we saw an object with no lights on it and made no sound. It was difficult to tell the size or speed but a few minutes before I saw what appeared to be a shooting star but it had a hooked entry and I have never seen that before and not sure if this had anything to do with it or not.
