At approx 9.50 p.m. almost directly overhead, I saw a very bright light (about the same intensity as Venus) which lasted only a few seconds. It then dimmed to a hardly perceptible point of light travelling very slowly from North to due South. It appeared to be very much higher than an aircraft - I suspect that it was a satellite passing overhead which was still in sunlight although it was almost dark on the ground and that the "bright-light" was simply light reflecting off a metal surface. I would be interested to hear if there have been any other sightings and if you can offer an explanation.
