Moving star vanishes

Looking up into the night sky, i noticed a star that was moving. I thought it was a satellite, but i watched anyway. It moved south east for around 60 seconds then it just disappeared. When it vanished it grew dim, it moved slowly. Two of my friends were outside with me and witnessed this as well.
